Diamonds on the Wall

Years ago, Sr. Jane Jochim went to the mall and came across the picture of a sunflower. She was attracted to it and decided to find out more about it. The piece was a diamond painting. According to the inventor, Chu, diamond painting is a combination of cross-stitch and paint-by-numbers. "You use an applicator to apply hundreds of sparkling resin rhinestones, one-by-one, on an adhesive color-coded canvas painting."

Sr. Jane was so attracted to it that she bought the kit and she hasn't looked back. She went from that first small piece to bigger canvases, getting more and more excited about the work. She is no longer diamond painting but she has done many pieces, giving most of them away as presents. She kept some of her favourites, including the two pictures below.
