January 27th is the feast day of St. Angela Merici, foundress of the Ursuline Order. Ursulines all over the world celebrate on this day. For the Ursulines of Prelate it was a communal celebration of St. Angela and the closing of their 100th jubilee year. The Sisters gathered for supper and then proceeded to unveil the jubilee book. The book contains updated versions of the Sisters' biographies and the story of 2019, as the community celebrated its 100th anniversary with various small and large events.
The Sisters were asked to reflect on the year and in summing up the comments, Sr. Anne Lewans, General Superior, remarked that what emerged over and over was joy and gratitude for all that the year had brought. It is our hope that this joy and gratitude will carry on into the future.
After the book had been unveiled the Sisters assembled in the chapel for solemn vespers, during which the Sisters, led by Sr. Anne Lewans, renewed their vows.
The evening ended with visiting over refreshments.
