Gaudete Sunday

On December 12th, the Church celebrates the third Sunday of Advent, called Gaudete Sunday because the Savior is near and it is time to rejoice. The community at St. Angela Merici Residence has been meeting since just before the first Sunday of Advent to reflect on each Sunday's scripture readings. Sr. Dianne Sehn has been breaking open the Word, and has challenged the participants with intriguing questions each week. The theme of joy for this upcoming Sunday, led to questions such as, "In a world marked by many evils and selfishness, how can our community make an extra effort to be a community of joy? What gives us joy? What steals our joy? What might help us live a more cheerful life?
