At baptism each one of us is anointed prophet, priest and
king. It is an act that calls us to service in the church and the
world, as well as to an ever deepening relationship with God. We all
live out that call differently. Associateship is one way for women and
men, not drawn to the priesthood or religious life, to answer their
baptismal call.
In the sixteenth century, St. Angela and her Company of St.
Ursula collaborated with lay people long before such a step was generally
accepted. Today, the Ursulines of Prelate encourage active lay
participation in the mission of their community. If you are a
practicing Catholic woman or man who cherishes the charism of St. Angela and
wants to learn more; if you have experienced the friendship of the Ursulines
of Prelate and have a desire to associate with them at a deeper level; if
you want to deepen your commitment to the church, then perhaps being an
associate of the Ursulines of Prelate is for you.
